How much does tile installation cost in Ottawa?
It depends on the tile size and type, the layout pattern, the area, and how much preparation the floor or walls need, such as removing old tile, levelling or waterproofing. Large-format tile and patterns like herringbone take longer to set than a standard straight layout. We give a free written quote after a site visit, so you know the price before any work starts.
How do you waterproof a tiled shower?
We use the Schluter-KERDI waterproofing system on shower walls and floors, with shower floors built on a sloped mortar bed or a KERDI shower kit, so water never reaches the drywall or framing behind the tile.
Can you install large-format tile?
Yes. Large-format porcelain is a large part of our work, including 24″ × 48″ tile throughout the 288-unit Rideau Registry building. Large tile needs a very flat surface, so floors are levelled first and tile is set with a levelling system.
Do you install natural stone?
Yes: marble, granite and slate floors, walls and fireplace surrounds, as well as stone-look porcelain for spaces where real stone would be harder to maintain.
How long does it take to tile a shower?
A tiled shower usually takes several days rather than one, because the mortar bed, the waterproofing and the grout each need time to set before the next step. We give you the schedule with your quote.
