Broadloom or carpet tile: which should I choose?
Broadloom comes off a roll and is stretched wall to wall, giving the softest feel and the fewest seams, which suits bedrooms, living rooms and basements. Carpet tile comes in squares that are laid individually, so a stained or damaged tile can be swapped out, which is why it is the standard in condo corridors and offices.
What carpet is best for a basement?
Synthetic fibres such as nylon or polyester handle basement conditions better than wool, and carpet tile makes it easy to replace a section if water ever gets in. The concrete should be dry before any carpet goes down. For a hard floor that handles moisture, see luxury vinyl plank.
Does the underpad matter?
Yes. The underpad affects how the carpet feels, how quiet it is and how long it lasts. We match the underpad to the carpet and the room.
How much does carpet installation cost in Ottawa?
