How much does it cost to redo stairs in Ottawa?

Can new flooring on the stairs match the floor upstairs?
Usually, yes. Many hardwood, vinyl and laminate collections have matching stair nosings and treads, so the floor carries on up the stairs with a finished edge on every step.
Will new flooring change the height of my stairs?
It can. Adding a thicker floor at the top or bottom of a staircase changes the height of the first or last step, and steps should stay consistent to be safe. We plan the stair and floor thicknesses together so every step stays even.
Can you carpet over existing stairs?
Yes. Carpet can be installed wall to wall on the stairs or as a runner with wood showing at the sides, over a stair pad, with each step tightly wrapped at the nosing.
